Here at Mountain Pass Equines we breed the rare Tchenarani. We breed both for excellence in competition and unique colors.
Before the shutdown and purge we had bred 24 Champion Tchenaranis. We hope to continue these achievements with our new herd.
Each of our show horses is trained to "Excellent!" in all foal and green skills to help them be the best they can be!
Sales Policies
Most of the horses that I sell will be put up for open sale, so of course anyone is free to purchase them if they so choose. There will be a few horses up for sale for approval only. These horses are more important or special to me for a few reasons and so I will be pickier with who they go to. I prefer that the new owners of these horses have been on the game for a bit to show their dedication. I usually only sell mares, fillies, and geldings of my Tchenaranis but I will occasionally put a colt up for sale. If any of my colts interests you feel free to drop me a line and we can discuss a potential sale or future breeding arrangements.
If you purchase a horse from me and it is past its foal and/or green training you can rest assured that it was trained to 'Excellent!' in all skills from the previous level(s). Prices for horses in training increase with their training level and as they gain titles in shows.
If you have a yellow ribbon account or higher and decide that you no longer want a horse you purchased from me I will gladly buy it back as long as it is younger than 24 years old and not permanently disabled.
Stallions
Important Note: Any of my studs with any variation of "danger" or "hazard" in their name carry the lethal white overo gene. Please breed with caution!
Only the best of my Tchenarani males are kept intact and offered for stud. The price for their services increases with their quality as judged by their stats, show record, and previous foal crops. Stallions offered at public stud have had at least one previous foal crop that demonstrates a strong ability to pass desired qualities to the next generation.
In Memoriam
We would like to bid a fond farewell to the wonderful mare, A Look At Sparta. As part of our original import herd, she was the first Tchenarani mare to produce a foal and through the years proved to be both a wonderful broodmare and a great show horse. Her retirement is well deserved at the age of twenty-four-and-a-half, and though she will be sorely missed we send her off with the knowledge that her foals and grandfoals will continue to carry on her legacy.
We also say a sad goodbye to Blizzard Heart. As the only male Tchenarani to be originally imported, he is the foundation upon which the breed stands. He was also a wonderful show horse, achieving his Grand Champion title in the English arena. He is survived by his many foals, grandfoals, great-grandfoals, and further descendants. His blood will run through the Tchenarani breed forever.
