Open Sales*

Open sales are when another player is publically selling one of their horses for a fixed price. They list their horse up for sale for the price they are willing to sell it for. This can be at no approval, or with approval required. With no approval, the horse can be automatically bought by someone else, and not have to have the sellerÂ’s approval for the horse to be purchased by the potential buyer. With approval required the buyer makes an offer to purchase the horse, and the owner can approve or decline the offer.

To find horses for sale you can browse the Classifieds, or the Horses For Sale areas.

To purchase a horse that is for sale without approval, go to the horse's page, and click on the "Purchase HorseName" button found at the bottom of the page.

To request to purchase a horse for sale with approval required, go to the horse's page, and click on the "Request To Purchase HorseName" button found at the bottom of the page.

Auctions*

If a player wants to, they can sell their horse at the auction. The selling player sets a reserve price that will let the potential buyers know that they may or may not accept their bid if the selling player does not think that they price that the bidding player has set is not enough for the price of the horse.

The potential buyer may enter a money increment into the submit bid box, and watch for the end of the auction to see if they will win the horse. Just like a real auction, the buyer may bid more than once if they outbid, as long as they are raising the increments.

At the end of the auction if the high bid is higher than the reserve price the horse will automatically be sold to the high bidder, and sent to the buyer's ranch. If the high bid is below the reserve price then the seller has the option to accept, or decline the offer.

To find horses that are up at auction, you can browse the Horses At Auction area.

Tips On Finding Good Horses

Everyone on this game has a different opinion on what is a good horse. To some it is the traits that matter, to others it may be the amount of training, color, DNA, pedigree, pattern, special trait, or even more. Really it depends on what goals you are trying to reach.

If you want a good show horse, then you should choose a horse that you think will make a good show horse. Some people will argue if stats really play a part in training but usually the smarter horses learn quicker, but with patience even the not so intelligent horse can become a great show horse.

If you are mainly focusing on color, then you should choose horses that will help get you the color that you want. This will involve looking at the horseÂ’'s Color DNA.

If you are mainly focusing on traits, then you should look at its Breeding Pedigree, since its parents and grandparents will also influence the traits its foals inherit.

Remember: A horse can be good in one person’'s opinion, while it might be not so great in another person’'s opinion. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
